IVISYS AB (’IVISYS’) has received an order from the Swedish subsidiary of Octapharma, a Swiss-based pharmaceutical company with multiple factories worldwide. The order is for a vision system, which picks, inspects and subsequently sorts items based on the inspection’s outcome. The order includes hardware and software components. The order value is approx. 2 000 000 SEK and is expected to impact IVISYS’ Q2 and Q4 results.

This is the fourth order IVISYS has received from a company in the Octapharma group.

Octapharma is one of the largest human protein manufacturers in the world, having several factories around the world carrying out pharmaceutical production, product labelling, packaging, storage, and distribution.

CEO Mikael Sjöholm comments

‘It is especially pleasing to receive orders from a company like Octapharma, since the pharmaceutical industry is known for demanding the highest possible quality standards. We are looking forward to delivering a solution which fully meets the high expectations of Octapharma, as we have done before with other healthcare manufacturers, such as Nobel Biocare. What will make this project even more exciting to get started on is that, this time, we will benefit from a larger organization with even deeper domain knowledge than before. Getting a new order right after Image Control Systems and IVISYS have officially joined into one organization is the perfect starting point from which to start employing the synergies that led the two companies together in the first place. This project could very well become a stepping stone towards attracting even more orders from this industry in the future,’ says Mikael Sjöholm

IVISYS provides vision-based quality inspection solutions for industry, which can replace both manual and mechanical quality control. IVISYS’ unique, patented solutions make it possible to perform complex quality control while keeping the existing production flow unaffected. Unlike existing solutions, IVISYS’ approach makes it possible to perform complex surface controls, control measurements on the micron level and control multiple components in one instant process. The solutions are based on IVISYS’ patented image data processing, which differs fundamentally from the conventional processes used within vision systems today. IVISYS is capable of utilizing high-resolution cameras in the company’s image processing, while at the same time processing image information faster than the company’s competitors. The solutions offered have an average payback period of approximately six months for customers currently relying on mechanical or manual control.
