IVISYS AB announces that the company welcomes Mikael Sjöholm as new CEO. Mikael Sjöholm has just joined IVISYS as a part of the newly approved acquisition of Image Control Systems AB by IVISYS AB. Former IVISYS CEO, Jakob Kesje, has been appointed as the chairman of the board of IVISYS AB.

Following the approved merger of IVISYS AB (‘IVISYS’) and Image Control Systems AB, the board elected Jakob Kesje as the new chairman of the merged company. To comply with corporate governance best-practice standards, Jakob Kesje has stepped down as the company’s CEO. He has been replaced by Mikael Sjöholm, who previously served as CEO of Image Control Systems AB, a company he co-founded in 2010 and has grown into a solid business prior to the merger with IVISYS.

Chairman of the Board, Jakob Kesje, comments

’As a board member and major shareholder, I should always be looking for the best possible candidate for the CEO position, even if it means replacing myself. I am fully convinced that Mikael Sjöholm is the ideal CEO for IVISYS AB now and in the years to come. He has a unique profile, with a combination of technical insight and managerial expertise, as well as a track-record of creating a commercially successful company within our industry. With the joint expertise of IVISYS and Image Control Systems gathered in one company, we now have in-house expertise with many years’ experience, which covers the full value chain from proprietary software development, to mechanical engineering and after-sales services. I look forward to working closely together with Mikael and the rest of the management to grow our company faster than would otherwise have been possible, if we had not joined forces,’ says Jakob Kesje, Chairman IVISYS AB.

CEO Mikael Sjöholm comments

’I am very excited to have been offered this opportunity. I see great potential in our joined company and I can’t wait to get started! I will be looking at how we can benefit from synergies and create an even stronger product and service range, based on the standard products of both companies. At the same time, I will stress that neither the previous customers of Image Control Systems nor the existing customers of IVISYS will experience changes in our focus on serving our customers with the best possible solutions,’ says Mikael Sjöholm, CEO of IVISYS AB

Jakob Kesje will continue to work full time for IVISYS and focus his efforts on sales and investor relations.

IVISYS provides vision-based, quality inspection solutions for the industry, which can replace both manual and mechanical quality control. IVISYS’ unique, patented solutions make it possible to perform complex quality control while keeping the existing production flow unaffected. Unlike existing solutions, IVISYS provides solutions that make it possible to perform complex surface controls, control measurements on the micron level, and control multiple components in one instant process. The solutions are based on IVISYS’s patented image data processing, which differs fundamentally from the conventional processes used within vision systems today. IVISYS is capable of utilizing high-resolution cameras in the company’s image processing, while at the same time processing image information faster than the company’s competitors. The solutions offered have an average payback period of approximately six months for customers currently relying on mechanical or manual control.

IVISYS is the winner of Frost & Sullivan’s 2017 Entrepreneur of the Year in Europe Award.
